Since 2011, MWilson has completed approximately 20 highly complex public-private horizontal and vertical developments, with projects totaling approximately 10 million square feet of development, including mixed-income residential, office, retail uses and community services.

TARGETED SCOPES OF WORK

Targeted scopes of work include designing, implementing, monitoring/tracking LBE/SBE procurement programs (including Professional Services and Construction), with an emphasis on MBE/WBE small and emerging firms. MWilson is currently working on or recently completed several assignments on behalf of market rate developers, nonprofit developers and their CBO partners, with an emphasis on developments targeted to mixed-income/mixed-use and low-income/formerly homeless, in Transbay, Mission Bay and Shipyard/Candlestick Project Areas. 

 

MWilson is part of Holliday Development/Related California/Satellite Affordable Housing (SAHA), El Cerrito Plaza TOD Development/Consultant Team.

 

MWilson is part of BRIDGE Housing, East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation, and Insight Housing and AvalonBay Communities, North Berkeley BART Station TOD Development/Consultant Team.

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT

For 13 years, MWilson successfully managed in excess of $250 million in completed or planned real estate developments, totaling approximately 600 housing units, including federally funded HOPE VI developments (Oakland and Richmond), San Francisco’s HOPE SF program (Westside Courts). MWilson’s roles included Project Management/Construction Management on the Single-Family Components for 100% affordable housing, and/or mixed-income/mixed-use developments

 

In addition to the real estate/construction scope of work, MWilson also managed all community engagement/resident engagement initiatives on these developments. MWilson designed and implemented community-wide resident engagement programs (e.g., resident meetings and door to door engagement, and resident intake and assessments/household surveys), identified local key partners and resources, and created programs and after-school initiatives for youth and young adults.

 

During this timeframe, MWilson intermediated with key local, state, and federal government stakeholders including HUD, Bay Area cities (including Housing, Economic, Community Development, and Workforce departments), San Francisco Housing Authority (SFHA), Oakland Housing Authority (OHA), and Richmond Housing Authority (RHA), former Redevelopment Agencies and numerous local and regional foundations.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

Over the last 10 years, MWilson has provided construction management (CM) services for numerous clients including education institutions, non-profit organizations, general contractors, and other client types.

​As of Summer 2024, MWilson is part of the 2024 Initiative for a Competitive InnerCity (ICIC)/Building For Growth (BFG) program, an extensive 18-week business/capacity development national program.

Monte Wilson is the Program Director and a founding member of Construction Industry and Workforce Initiative (CIWI), a young adult program targeted to students (18-21 +/- years) enrolled in a two to four-year college program. Since 2012, CIWI has delivered over 200 internships, the vast majority to BIPOC/first generation college students.

Throughout the Summers of 2023 and 2024 program, CIWI and its sponsors delivered part-time or full-time internships for over 40 young adults.
